The light curcuit turned on. By the way, there are eight lights on the light circuit using a series circuit.

Evidence of Research

Our group didn't use any websites to do this assignment. We just used some verbal advice from the Jaycar staff and Ms Williams.

Challenges and how we solved them

One of the challenges we encountered in the project was that our circuits weren't  working. To solve it we asked Mrs Williams what was wrong and Mrs Williams said that the reason they weren't working was that one of our wires on the battery pack was broken. Also some of our lights were broken. Another challenge was that we had too many ideas for our assignment, how we solved this was by  flipping a coin or by playing scissors, paper,rock. The final problem was with the communication as some of our members didn't have access to the internet. We fixed this problem by calling each other and talking to each other at school.

What have I learnt?

Simone
Since the science assignment I have learnt how to make, use and identify circuits. Also how to work as a team with the other people in our group. I have also learnt how to compromise with other people.

Prithi
This assignment taught me how to compromise my opinions while doing a group assignment and not on my own. This assignment gave me an opportunity to learn how to work as a group. Also I learnt a lot from my group as they were able to tell me stuff I didn't know about electricity, this let me build my knowledge on this subject. The problems we had with our circuits helped me learn more about circuits.

Nicole
During the assignment I have learnt the values of working as a group. I have also learnt how to differentiate and describe which is series or parallel circuits. The most important thing I have learnt was how to communicate and resolve problems between others.

Rationale

The purpose of this design is to portray a RSL club and all it's different equipment and technology. Also to reenact things that happen in the club. We the owners of the SPN club would like to introduce more types of food and dance space, so our customers can enjoy there experience. Most importantly we have the best bands playing every night.

The making of SPN: Group Diary/procedure

30 June
Our group met up at Jaycar in Blacktown to buy all the supplies that were needed to do our project. We received help from the staff at Jaycar who recommended the supplies that would fit our project criteria the best. Our total cost of all our supplies was $60. After this we went to Nicole's house and glued together pieces of cardboard to make the levels for our project. We then chose the figurines and cars to be used in the boxes.


7 July
Our group met up at Prithi's house where we stuck the floor of the disco floor and made the stage using parts of big boxes. Then we made tables by cutting out circles of paper and cardboard. Then we cut skewers to make the legs of the table. We then stuck everything together and used the figurines stands and Simone's clay foods to make plates of food.

July 14
Our group met up at Prithi's house to finish decorating in the disco and car park. We then made the instruments for the band that was performing on the stage, we also made turntables for the DJ. Also we added some snowflake LED lights and also we did some more of the circuits.

July 21
Our group met up at Prithi's house to do some more of the car park. We also did more of the circuits for the disco and car park.

July 23
We went to the library to ask Mrs Williams about why our circuits weren't working and she told us that the reason our circuits weren't working was because some of our lights weren't working. The reason our lights weren't  working was due to some of the lights being broken.

August 4
We met up at Nicole's house and made a scrapbook also we started our presentation.

August 7
We went to Simone's house and set up a blog also we finished most of the scrapbook.

August 14
We met up at Simone's house and updated our blog and we also did some more of the scrapbook. We also finished off the rationale, the what I have learnt and challenges and how we solved it part of the assignment
August 20
We met up at Prithi's house and finshed our scrap book and presentation. We also tried the circuits again as this was the last thing we had to do. The circuits weren't working again. We only had 4 lights working out of 20.

August 21
We met up at Simone's house and finished off all the circuits. We also added a motor and installed the lights into the assignment. We then decorated the extrieior of the box with cellophane.
